Sponsored by Christine Zimmer – This donation is in memory of Jana Tichy who was a loyal and loving friend who we were fortunate enough to share many happy memories with. She will be missed but in our hearts forever.

Jeanie is a 5 year old little lady who came to us from a backyard breeder. Jeanie has had a small life up until now so rescue has been a huge change for her. It took a few weeks for her to warm up to humans but as the days progress she is learning to trust. With the help of her foster brother she is slowly learning how to be a dog. Jeanie loves her foster brother and follows his every move so she would do best in a home with an older, calm resident dog to shadow and learn from. Jeanie now walks on a leash and pees and poops outside (with the exception of a few accidents). She loves her walks and gets excited when she realizes what time it is.

Jeanie LOVES to roll around in the grass, she carries around her squeaky toys all day long and enjoys showing them off. Jeanie is happy to curl up in her bed in a sunny window and loves sleeping in her crate at night, often putting herself to bed when she decides it’s time! Jeanie is a joy to have around, her curious nature is becoming more prominent and watching her grow and experience life has been very special. Jeanie’s humans will have endless laughs and entertainment with this special girl.

Jeanie is a special little girl whose past means she deserves a home that will be very patient with her as she is still very scared of the world. Jeanie’s humans will need to earn her trust but once they have, it will prove very rewarding. She wants to love and cuddle with humans but is scared of it right now. Jeanie needs a quiet home without small children. She has spent too much of her time around energetic, loud puppies and they seem to cause her stress. Jeanie will prove to be a loving and wonderful companion for another calm dog.

Before rescue Jeanie had what we suspect was an infection in one eye. This was clearly untreated and so she has scarring over this eye. We suspect her vision is very compromised in this eye so she follows the resident dog closely and likes to be approached from the front. She can’t walk in the dark. Despite all of this she gets around perfectly fine and even runs up and down stairs.

As Jeanie is so nervous, she is very prone to escaping and running away- she should never be allowed off leash in spaces that aren’t fenced in and her humans should consider a tracker just in case! She does allow people to pick her up as long as they go slowly and don’t force it.

Overall, Jeanie has been a wonderful foster and will be an amazing edition to any home. She’s a special girl who deserves the world.
