Jake is a gentle, curious boy who is equal parts quiet explorer and shy newcomer. After coming from a puppy mill background, he is learning that the world can be safe, kind, and full of good things. He often enjoys investigating and playing independently, but when something feels a little too big or unexpected, he looks to his foster mom for reassurance. This sweet boy is house-trained, quiet, non-destructive, up to date on vaccines, neutered, and had a dental in July 2026.

Jake enjoys exploring the backyard, chewing sticks, going for car rides, and watching the world go by before settling in for a snooze. He is also starting to discover the fun of toys—especially stuffies, though squeakers are not really his thing. On daily walks, he is learning, one brave step at a time, that the world is full of new sights and sounds. In familiar areas, he walks calmly on a loose leash beside his person and remains neutral when passing people or other calm dogs.

Jake can be sensitive to loud noises, sudden movements, and unfamiliar people—especially men—entering his personal space too quickly. Calm introductions, a predictable routine, and the freedom to approach when he is ready will help him continue to build confidence. Once trust is earned, he is affectionate and absolutely loves his rubs.

His ideal home is adult-only, calm, and patient, with a quiet neighbourhood and a securely fenced yard. A calm, somewhat reserved, well-balanced dog may help him continue to blossom, but it is not a requirement. Jake has not been tested with cats; however, he has shown no prey drive toward outdoor critters on walks or in the yard—only light curiosity.

A compassionate adopter will move at his pace, celebrate the small wins, and give him time to let his personality shine. In the right home, this tender-hearted boy has all the makings of a loyal, loving companion.
