Fred is a sweet and gentle senior with lots of love to give. He loves walks and is incredibly playful. We don’t think he had toys in his past life, and he is obsessed. Every stuffed toy in the box is fun in Fred’s eyes.

Fred is a petite guy at around 22 lbs, with the softest, cutest beagle ears. He’s very quiet and may be shy for a few moments when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly.

It’s likely Fred lived outdoors in his past life, so he’s still learning indoor manners. He can be a little nervous at times, but he’s coming out of his shell more each day as he learns he’s safe. Fred looks to his people for reassurance and loves gentle encouragement. He’s currently working on housetraining and is improving every day.

Fred gets along well with other dogs and would make a great second dog, especially with a confident canine friend to show him the ropes. He’d also be perfectly happy as an only dog. He has shown some mild possessiveness over his dog bed, which is understandable given he may never have had a comfy one of his own, and he’ll benefit from continued guidance and structure.

At night, Fred sleeps soundly in his crate, and during the day he loves nothing more than cuddling up on the couch with his people.
With some guidance and a family to show him that the world is a safe place, Fred is going to blossom into a confident little guy.
