Freckles is adopted!!
Freckles / Female / Blue Heeler Cross / 25 lbs / 5 yrs old / Adoption fee $400.00
Hi my name is Freckles!
Many people tell me I look like a miniature wolf but I am really called a Blue Heeler Mix and I am fully grown, I am 5 years old!
I love when the humans let me play in the backyard or take me to the dog park, I love to run around and smell things…I particularly love to get up to top speed so the dog park is the best place for that. Plus I meet new friends there!
I am very shy and although I may smell a strangers hand it takes me a while to build up trust and bond to a new human. I am starting to learn not all humans are the same, many of them are very nice. I really like the humans that give good treats and lots of love. Relaxing in my bed is one of my favourite things especially if it is near a sunny window when I can’t lounge around outside! I would do best in a quiet household. If there are children in the household it’s OK as long as they’re very calm and quiet children if they’re excited and running around often it would scare me. After living in my foster homes for a few weeks, I learned I was in a safe and loving space and ventured up on the couch to sit beside my foster parents! I like outgoing cats who like to hang around the humans, seeing them be loved and cuddled makes me feel more secure, I do like to sniff them from time to time they are very curious creatures and gentle like me!
I would really love a home that has another dog to show me what the rules and boundaries are but if you don’t have a dog it’s OK. I’m sure you will take me plenty of places where I can meet friends, all I really need is a very loving family who will be very kind and patient with me while I learn. My foster parents are very patient with me when putting my harness and leash on, I love to go for a walk or a little jog from time to time. I also learned what the humans meant by the word “sit”, this week. I am very proud when I learn new things!
I know that I told you I like to cuddle and snuggle into my bed but I really love to sleep in, in the morning don’t make me get up too early and I’ll be your best friend otherwise you might find me wandering back to my bed. I feel comfortable sleeping up on your human bed or in my own bed, I particularly love a crate or somewhere that feels like a little den as long as it has a comfy bed inside. Sometimes I bark when I am startled or when I get excited but the humans always tell me “be quiet”, so I try my best to listen.
I think the best toys are big dog bones, thankfully my one foster parent makes them for me along with really yummy treats! She promised to send me a brand new bone whenever I get adopted, what a lucky girl I am!
