Sponsored by Heather in loving memory of Eliot York

Elsa is an adorable tiny mini poodle mix! Her big personality makes up for her tiny size though. She is always on the go and has no trouble keeping up with her foster siblings, often tiring them all out!

Elsa is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines. Elsa is mostly house trained; she does really well for 7 months old. She is crated at night and for short periods when her foster mom needs to be out of the house. Elsa can be vocal with high pitch cries when she is first left alone, but then settles in. She will bark at noises, so apartment living isn’t ideal.

She loves the outdoors and enjoys exploring the yard and while on walks. She does pretty good on a leash, but her excitedness makes it hard to focus on simply walking when there is so much to see and do in this world! Elsa has a lot of energy and will need a full family to keep her busy. Elsa LOVES kids and is good cats and dogs.. though she’s a high energy playmate that older dogs and cats may not appreciate. She would love a fur sibling to match her energy level, or human kids to play with. Elsa thinks everyone is her friend.

We are looking for a home with another dog or two that will enjoy her playful rambunctious nature, and or children for her to love. Ideally children old enough to understanding & gentle with a puppy, but that will also enjoy playing.

Elsa is a pure joy and has the funniest little personality. Just call her name and she will come running, tail wagging falling over her own feet. She’s always up for fun! She listens well and will be fun to do training with. She loves to cuddle and give kisses too. Just a bright and bubbly tiny girl looking for her forever family.

MEDICAL NOTES: Elsa has luxating patella graded at a 4 with her back right leg. This is not uncommon for the breed, and while is very active and mobile, this is a more serious case. The rescue has a prebooked an appointment (on August 12th) with the orthopedic surgeon we use in Thornbury/Collingwood area for her knee to be rechecked at 9 months of age. The rescue will cover the cost of this surgery  (if needed) and any associated follow up appointments, but an adopter WILL be expected to take Elsa to that appointment. If the surgeon feels she will benefit from surgery (we expect that will be the case) surgery will be done that day. An adopter MUST understand the post-surgery care that will be involved if the surgery goes ahead. It will require restricted movement, controlled movement and range of motion exercises for 4 to 6 weeks post-surgery for her leg to heal properly.  ***This is a big consideration when applying to adopt her and will be discussed during screening.
