Sponsored by Heather, in loving memory of Buster, our first rescue. Buster was found wandering the streets in the darkness of a cold, rainy October night; discarded as if he was nothing, Buster was Bear’s bestest buddy and completed our family turning our house into a warm, loving home.
She is pretty much house trained but does need regular outside visits to enforce this. She can be crated overnight, or when left home alone. She is dog friendly and has met one cat with little interest.
Clare would likely be fine with older children as long as they are respectful. She’s not a fan of being reached for or grabbed at, so older children that can understand her limits and be gentle would be best.
Clare is not leash trained yet and while she has done well with adjusting to the backyard .. city streets are busy and scary to her. She would not be suitable for an avid walker/hiker, but would be more suitable to backyard bird watcher/gardener. Clare tends to get car sick, so she would prefer to hang out at home rather than be a car companion.
She is bravest when she has another dog to lead her in adventures and is playful with her foster siblings medium and small sized. Another well balanced social dog in the home, would be so helpful to her development
Medical Note: Clare has grade 3 luxating patella (bilateral). The vet does not feel she requires surgery. To keep her legs in good shape, it would be important that she maintain a healthy weight to avoid issues.
Clare has come so far in adjusting to life after being a breeder girl. She’s learned to enjoy a soft bed, snack and just loves tiny toys she can carry around. She will bring a lot of delight to her new family.
