Sponsored by Laila, in loving memory, and in honour of her beloved Havanese, Ciro. In so many different ways you were beautiful and precious, and you made my life so. You inspire me every day, and so together we now try to help other dogs.

Chucky is a sweet boy, who is very gentle and quiet. He is trying to get used to a big new world that he has not been exposed to. Loud noises, loud people, loud traffic and sudden movements are scary for him – he is very skittish, and his first instinct is to move away from the situation.
He has gotten more relaxed after a few weeks , and will take treats when offered.
He has bonded to his foster mom, and follows her everywhere. He will come when called if he trusts you – this takes time, and he needs to get comfortable with new people at his own pace.
He takes some timet to relax, but will lie on the sofa when he feels safe. He will go into his crate if he is feeling overwhelmed or scared- it is a comfortable space to relax in.
He enjoys the backyard, needs to be fenced, and is curious about everything- he is housetrained , but sometimes needs encouragement to do his business.
He enjoys hanging out with a family dog that visits weekly – he is learning how to be a dog from his older companion, who is quiet and calm. Chucky would do well in a home that has a calm , good natured, well mannered dog that can help him build his confidence, and show him that humans can be kind, and can be trusted.
He does not know how to play yet – another dog could show him that life can be lots of fun!
He walks well on the leash and is curious about the dogs that he meets- he is still startled by cars and loud noises but is adapting to walking outside.
With time and patience Chucky will make someone a lovely companion – he is quiet, sweet and just wants to be part of a loving home.
