Meet Chloe, an adorable West Highland Terrier aka Westie, located in Toronto.

Chloe came to us from a puppy mill, where she spent her entire life being used for breeding. Despite everything she’s been through, she is one of the sweetest, gentlest little girls you could ever meet.

Chloe is a kind and sensitive soul. She can be a little shy around adults at first, but she absolutely adores respectful, gentle children. Around kids, her personality truly shines — she happily hops toward them asking for endless kisses and cuddles. She especially loves snuggling up at night with our 9- and 11-year-old daughters and is the ultimate little couch potato for movie nights and TV time.

She walks beautifully on leash, though busy traffic can still be scary for her, especially when large vehicles like buses or cars pass too closely. Chloe enjoys peaceful outdoor time and would love a home with a backyard where she can feel safe and relaxed while going to the bathroom. She is pad trained and is also making great progress with outdoor potty habits.

Chloe gets along well with other dogs and has shown no signs of aggression, though she is very timid and tends to let other dogs take the lead. As she settles in and gains confidence, we’ve already seen her start to blossom — she now happily takes treats from my hand and continues to warm up more each day.

Like many terriers, Chloe will bark at unfamiliar sounds and definitely enjoys chasing squirrels in the yard! She also requires regular grooming to maintain her beautiful Westie look — everywhere she goes, people comment that she looks just like the little dog from the Cesar commercials.

Chloe has recently been fully vetted through our rescue, including vaccinations, spay surgery, and a full dental completed by our veterinarian.

Chloe would thrive in a loving home with at least one gentle child, a backyard, and people who will give her the patience, affection, and security she deserves after such a difficult start to life. In return, she will give endless love, kisses, and companionship.
