Sponsored for my Golden Girls, Daisy (Blanche), Tulo (Dorothy), and Abbey (Rose), all rescues around 12 years old. The loves of our lives.
Hello! Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Big Boy. “Big”? at 6 lbs you ask? Well, I came with a group of 3 lbs chihuahuas, so I AM big compared to my friends.
We came into rescue from a rather sheltered life, so I’m a bit shy and a lot of things are new to me. I lived with 13 other chihuahuas and a lovely man who took care of us. Unfortunately he was told he could not keep us all, and 11 of us came into rescue. Life has been a whirlwind since!
I’m learning about house training, and leashes, and exploring new spaces. Although I’m a whopping 6 lbs (and named Big Boy) I feel pretty small right now! I often shake and look pretty bug eyed as I explore each new space. Once I get comfortable, I can be quite silly. I like to jump around, and play catch-me-if-you-can. I’ve been working hard at house training too.
When no one can watch me, I hang out quietly in my exercise pen. The rest of the time, I run loose with a male wrap/belly band on as I learn. Overnight I now keep my crate clean and dry.
I don’t play with toys, but I do enjoy interacting with my chihuahuas friends. So I’m looking for a forever home with another small fun dog who can help teach me all about life and be my best friend. I’m much more brave with a trusted sidekick.
I would love a calm family that will enjoy teaching me things, and will be understanding of my initial shyness. I don’t think little kids would think I’m much fun as a pet, but I’d be open to visiting kids. Older respectful kids would probably enjoy helping me be brave.
I’m quiet, so I could live in a shared living space such as a condo or apartment, but at this point I would need to be carried to outside space (and I’d probably be very nervous for the first while), so ideally a home with a yard or some private green space would be ideal.
I do love to curl up near my foster mom to nap, I love to explore spaces I’m comfortable in, and I’m quiet as a mouse. I just need some time and understanding as I learn about this new world.
