Sponsored in celebration of Ilona’s name day.
Bella is a confident dog who made herself right at home. She eats well and has now mastered the stairs. She is very smart and cuddly. She loves to be groomed and sleeps through the night in her crate.
This little girl loves her toys and is going to make someone a great pet.
Bella came into rescue with obvious issues with one of her eyes and promptly saw the veterinarian. It was determined that the eye was non-visual and the pressures were very high which was painful and eventually a risk for rupture. It was decided that the best course of action was to remove the eye. Bella had her enucleation and has recovered beautifully. The cause of the issue was not determined at surgery and the eye was sent out for examination to try and ascertain a reason for its condition. It was found that chronic keratitis had caused the loss of vision and high pressures. At the initial appointment, some issues, of a much lesser degree, were noted in the other eye. Bella was started on 2 types of eye medications. At her recheck appointment, the veterinarian was pleased with the improvements in Bella’s remaining eye. Her pressures had come down and the doctor is hopeful that with proper care that the eye, although not perfect, will remain visual. There is some scarring present and Bella will need to remain on eye medication throughout her life. She is presently needing just one type of medication – Optimune. Her pre surgery blood work was excellent and she is a healthy and happy girl.
