Meet Bella!

Bella has been a sweetheart from the moment she arrived from Ohio in December. Bella was found abandoned outside in terrible health condition and ultimately had to have her eye removed as a result. However through it all, Bella remains a beautiful, sweet girl, who wants to give nothing but love.

Bella enjoys naps in a comfy dog bed and is very relaxed throughout the day – unless she’s playing with her foster mom’s dog. Bella loves to go for walks on warmer days, and stays right close.

Bella is comfortable in a crate both overnight and while left alone. She does become quite vocal for around 15 minutes after initially putting her in the crate, however, will soon settle down.

Bella goes outside regularly throughout the day as we have been working on reducing accidents in her crate and the house. Since finding her routine, accidents in the house have been kept to a minimum, however, Bella tends to have accidents in the crate overnight.

Bella is ultimately a very loving girl who is looking for her forever family. Bella does come with chronic health conditions that will require routine veterinary care and lifelong medications such as prescription hypoallergenic food, eye lubricant and ear cleansing. As these are pre-existing conditions, they would not be covered by insurance. However, given the many health issues that French bulldogs can be prone to, it is advised for her adopters to obtain insurance for her. When Bella first came into rescue she had a very pronounced head tilt. As her ear infections cleared up the tilt did improve. However, she still does have a tilt and our veterinarian expects this will be permanent. This does not affect her health or her enjoyment of life.

Bella’s ideal family would be with someone who is home most of the time, and/or with another dog in the home. Bella does fantastic with larger dogs, and ignores cats. Bella would do well in a home with a family that has an understanding of the French Bulldog breed.
