Sponsored by Dione Ferguson – in memory of 11.5 years with my soul dog Hazel, and the many dogs she helped me foster along the way.
The first words that come to mind when I think about Barbie are: submissive, scared, sweet, smart and cuddly.
Although unfamiliar with life in a home, Barbie has adapted nicely to the routine. Having 2 super senior dog mentors probably helps since she was much more comfortable with the dogs than the humans when she first arrived.
Positive feedback and yummy treats are great motivators for her, especially when it comes to housetraining.
She is scared and walks low to the ground when we are on a walk outside and a car drives by.
Barbie is learning a lot, including how to play with toys.
Hopefully as she gets used to her surroundings, she her confidence will grow and she know what it’s like to be a beloved family member.
