Anita

Poodle Mix – Female – 10 lbs – 4 yrs (approx.)

Sponsored in memory of sweet Maddie, with love always Echo and Sandy.

If you are hoping to adopt a small, quiet, gentle dog then take a serious look at Anita. She is a 4 year old, non-shedding poodle mix approximately 10 lbs. Although she was rescued in Ohio from a puppy mill she has been in foster care for a while and is quite accustom to living in a home.

Anita is a sweet, little dog who is calm and quiet. Although she is timid with strangers she readily attaches to her foster person in a day or so. Loud noises can startle her but since she is at a foster home in the city she is gradually becoming used to the hustle and bustle of the town. In her former life, Anita was trained to use puppy pads but is learning to void outside. With continued practice she will begin to use the grass regularly.

Anita sleeps well in her bed or crate with or without the door closed both in the day or night. She eats well, rarely if ever barks, enjoys going for walks and seeks out attention for a pet or belly rub appropriately. And although she likes her treats, she knows not to take food from the table. Anita is learning to sit on command and receives rewards with the gentlest of mouths. She travels well in the car usually falling asleep in a few minutes.

Anita is in excellent health. She has been spayed, had all her shots including her monthly heartworm and has been given a clean bill of health from the vet. She has a daily chew on a dental bone which helps to support her dental hygiene.

She will likely do best in a calm and quiet household, perhaps with or without another gentle dog, where she will be cuddled and loved. If your home sounds like it could be her forever home for please fill out an application with the rescue or contact me, her foster mom.
