Sponsored in honour of my Daisy who is about 12 and had a mass removed from her eye and is on the mend and waiting for the results of her biopsy. Please keep Daisy in your prayers.
Aisha is a 4 year old, female, shih tzu from Quebec.
Aisha came to her foster home as a very scared little girl, so much so, that she would not let anyone touch her. It became clear very early, that she preferred men to women. She did not seem as fearful of men or of older children.
Aisha, (Missy) has come a long way in her foster home. She hangs out with her foster dad and allows him to pick her up and to pet her. Her tail is wagging, and she realizes she LOVES treats. She has, once or twice sat on her foster mom’s lap. When she feels comfortable with you, she will nibble on your clothes! Missy sleeps on her foster parent’s bed on a pillow beside her foster dad’s head. Missy would definitely need a home with a fenced yard as she is a flight risk. It took a long time for her to allow you to put a harness on her and she is still unsure. She does not walk well on a leash; she is always looking for a way to “escape” and will twist and turn trying to get out of her harness.
She does very well with the other dogs in her foster family. Once you get her in the car, she has learned that it is not so scary to go for a car ride.
Missy would need a home that can continue to build her confidence and show her that life is not as scary as she has seen in her past.
She would do best in a home with another dog to show her how to become a confident dog. She would do best in a home with older children or no children.
