Sponsored by Heather Baggs in loving memory of Mike Stein with heartfelt condolences to Lynda on her great loss.
If you’re looking for a dog who can keep up with you on long walks and then curl up beside you on the couch for a long nap, Cricket may be your girl. Energetic yet affectionate, she loves being active with her people just as much as she loves snuggling with them.
Cricket is a slim and trim 20-pound terrier cross, perhaps with a little Beagle in the mix and a splash of Jack Russell. You would be excused for thinking she is part goat given her ability to leap up on things much higher than herself, seemingly with little effort.
Because of her energy level, she’ll need a home where she gets plenty of exercise, playtime, and mental stimulation. A securely fenced yard where she can run, play, and burn off some of her energy is essential.
Despite her energy level, she is a true cuddler and will insist on joining you in your chair and climbing into bed with you at night. Make room.
Cricket is spayed, microchipped, up to date on her vaccinations, and house-trained.
She is very good on leash and is not reactive to people, dogs, or bikes. A passing squirrel, however, can get her attention pretty quickly.
Cricket is great with other dogs and would prefer a home with another playful dog, or one where she has regular opportunities to play with canine friends.
She still has a few manners to work on, as do many dogs her age, but a little patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement are all she needs.
