Posh is a 2-year-old, 18 lb Terrier mix with a BIG personality!

This sweet girl is playful, affectionate, curious, and absolutely hilarious. Posh LOVES her toys and playing so much that sometimes she gets a little carried away and forgets that she needs to eat, sleep or take a break. Her foster family occasionally has to remind this busy girl that even professional players need rest.

One of Posh’s most charming features is her excited tippy-tappies. Whether you’ve been gone for hours or simply stepped into the next room, Posh is thrilled to see you again, and her little feet let you know ALL about it. She is full of joy and has a way of making everyone around her smile.

Posh is mostly house trained and does especially well when she has a consistent routine. She is a wonderful crate sleeper. She happily goes into her crate on her own and sleeps through the night or hangs out with her toys.

She can be a little cautious when meeting new people and needs a minute to warm up to strangers. Once she feels comfortable, though, she is incredibly affectionate and loves people. She is also good with other dogs. For cautious smaller dogs, it’s good not to pick them up so they build their own confidence, and this is habit her foster family thinks she will need going forward.

Posh LOVES going for walks, which are an important part of keeping this busy girl’s body and brain happy. She is curious about the world around her and benefits from getting outside to explore, sniff, and burn off some energy. Her future family should be committed to making daily walks and activity part of her routine.

Posh is a very brave girl. She continues to gain confidence every day. She was treated for heartworm and is now in the final stages of healing. She will continue to need limited exercise but that will be lessened over the coming months.

Posh  has an enormous personality, a joyful spirit and so much love to give. She would love a family who will appreciate her silly antics, give her the structure and activity she needs, allow her a little time to warm up, and most importantly, love her for the sweet girl she is.

Posh tested positive for heartworm when she had her intake vetting. She received her treatment (doxycycline and immiticide injections) prior to coming to her foster home. In addition, Posh received a Pro-heart 6 injection which provides heartworm prevention for 6 months. Posh has completed the most restrictive part of her activity limitations. However her activity should still be limited to avoid over-exertion. Daily walks and yard play is fine, but avoiding continuous running and strenuous play is still necessary for a few more months.

If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, funny little companion who will keep you smiling (and probably keep those tippy-tappies going), Posh might just be your girl.
