Sweetie Sammie is a retired mill mama looking forward to a better life.

This sweet tiny girl is coming out of her shell and is quite funny when she’s feeling really sure of herself. She loves to explore the backyard and loves to follow the other dogs around. She will even follow the foster home husky under the deck for adventure. She prances around at meal time, and bed time when she knows there are cookies to follow.

Sammie doesn’t care to be alone. She copes much better crated than loose, but she will bark from time to time, so shared living spaces will not be idea. She would prefer a home that has someone in it most of the time so that she has her people close to her. While she doesn’t need another dog, she would be happy to have a sibling or two to follow around and nap with. Given her relaxed and happy nature, we think she would also be fine with a cat friend too.

She is still a bit nervous of being picked up and fast movements, so kids (if any) should be respectful of her space. She is not reactive, but a calm approach will help her to learn the safety of human hands.

She is learning about house training, but is not yet house trained. She is crated at night and keeps her space clean, but during the day she does not know how to ask to go outside yet. Once outside she is pretty good about doing her business, however an adopter will need to take her out often and keep her focused on the task at hand.

Sammie is an easy dog to love and will offer all the love back to her future adopter. She has the most soulful little eyes. She will make a fabulous tiny companion and perfect little BFF.
