Sponsored by Kate Bourgon – In honor of Max’s birthday as we met him 4 years ago today. Hoping his memory and perfect love can help another senior.
Hermione or aka Lady (because she looks just like Lady from the Disney movie “Lady & the Tramp”) is a beauty as you can see in her photos.
She is so sweet and gentle BUT very nervous and unsure when meeting people & other dogs. She loves to lay in the crate with door open with her foster sister Michele …she feels safest in there. She doesn’t show much interest in toys so far we are working on that!
This shy girl is learning to leash walk, but is overwhelmed by the sights and sounds she faces. She is a flight risk, and should be given time to build confidence and experience before long walks become an expectation. She would do best in a home with a large yard for her to exercise free of distractions. Ideally a peaceful neighbourhood where she could enjoy quiet sidewalks. She will need someone understanding of this and can help her adjust. Someone with mill dog or fearful dog experience would be an asset. Over the past few weeks she has calmed down some & seems to enjoy our 2 walks a day with her foster brother Milou.
Hermione is spayed & has beautiful clean teeth!! Also her fur & skin are healthy no issues!! She isn’t a big eater & there is no food guarding. She is also house trained.
She does seem to get car sick, but we are hoping that eases with more experience and exposure to riding in the car.
Hermione is a sweet girl, a real love bug. She would do best with another confident dog to learn from, do walks with and to be a snuggle buddy. A calm home, with an adopter understanding of her needs and the time to help her build confidence. She would not be appropriate for young children but would be fine with older children that can respect her limits and be gentle/encouraging with her.
**Adoptions within the province of Ontario only
