We are in LOVE with Carson! This handsome cavalier joined our family as a scared foster dog just over a week ago. His new life as a Canadian is such a contrast from his life as a stud in a puppy mill. EVERYTHING is new to Carson. This little guy has mastered eating from a bowl, accepting treats from your hand (he is soooo gentle), sleeping in a comfy dog bed, and has selected a few toys that he calls his favourites. Carson walked on a leash for the very first time less than a week ago, and now gets all “wiggly” with excitement when he sees everyone getting their coats and leashes on. (He still is learning that this is a time when outside pottying is done). In the last few days he has found his voice, and does bark a little at sounds from outside and does a very happy whine when you return home. For now he is still being carried up and down our stairs, and watched very closely outside. He happily will join in when his foster siblings are getting scratches and are playing but he still is a little shy to initiate this. Carson is working on his bathroom habits, and we are confident he will master this in no time! Carson sleeps through the night, waking each morning with a wagging tail ready to start another day. He has never been crated, and is comfortable laying at the foot of your bed. (He would welcome snuggling under covers too). He is not a fussy eater, loves to graze throughout the day and enjoys many treats when he does a good job outside.
Carson’s perfect home needs to have a dog or two, fairly quiet in nature, and a fenced in yard would be a wonderful bonus. Carson’s adopters will need to be patient and willing to help Carson be brave and continue to develop in his new home.
Mr Handsome is a very happy dog who is enjoying his new life in a real home, he can’t wait for a home he can call his own.
