Meet Lulu!

Lulu is an 8-year-old rat terrier mix with the cutest underbite and big, soulful eyes that will melt your heart. Originally a southern girl, she made the trip to Canada in search of a fresh start. She’s settled in beautifully and is loving Canadian life—though she’s not the biggest fan of cold weather and snow (but who can blame her?).

Lulu is an incredibly sweet and friendly girl who loves people of all ages. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has tested well with cats. She greets everyone with enthusiasm and will happily sneak in a few kisses if given the chance. It’s clear that someone in her past wasn’t always kind; if you move toward her too quickly or try to pick her up unexpectedly, she can startle and freeze with fear, as if bracing for punishment. But despite that history, Lulu remains gentle, loving, and endlessly resilient.

She adores the company of other dogs and would be happiest in a home with another calm dog around her size.

At home, Lulu simply wants to be near her people—snuggled up beside them or following along to “supervise” whatever they’re doing. Her favourite moment of the day is when the kids come home from school; she gets so excited she zoomies around the house! She would do well with dog-savvy, respectful children who understand her small size and gentle nature.

Lulu enjoys her walks and does well on leash. True to her terrier roots, she loves to follow her nose and take in all the outdoor scents.

At night, Lulu loves curling up in bed with her people, often burrowing under the blankets to fall asleep feeling safe and warm.
