Buddy

Coton de Tulear – Male – 11 lbs – 7 yrs (approx)

Sponsored by Kathryn Elderfield -from my 2 dogs that have passed away 3 and 4 years ago, named Buddy and Gogo. My 2 boys, xoxo.

Hello, my name is Buddy and I am looking forward to meeting you and getting my own family. I am a Coton de Tuléar and about 11 pounds. I am almost 8 years old (DOB: March 29, 2018). I have a fair amount of energy but I can also settle. I am neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and microchipped.

I have a sweet, playful nature and I love to snuggle with my human. If I can’t be in your lap, I will curl up at your feet. While I haven’t met any children, foster mom thinks I would be fine with respectful children. I have shown some interest in toys and a bone. I can be mouthy and foster mom doesn’t like it so I need to learn to not use my mouth when I play with humans.

Foster mom has two small dogs and several cats. I am comfortable with them I join them in barking at people going by. Foster mom has several cats and I even shared the big bed with one of them. I met foster mom’s niece’s large dogs and was okay with them.

While I can be nervous with new people and in new situations, foster mom says I did well at Christmas meeting her family. Once I trust you, I will be your friend. Foster mom’s dogs are teaching me how to be a dog. I follow her older dog everywhere and will curl up with him.

I am working on my house trained. I will use a puppy pad in the house and am learning that I should do my business outside. We have tried this thing called a car ride and I’m not a great fan of it. If it is a long ride, I will eventually settle, but I really don’t like it. Foster mom thinks I will get used to it as I learn that it leads to fun things. I’m okay on a leash.

Foster mom tried leaving me in a separate room while she was out but I don’t like being left by myself and barked. So, she is leaving me loose in the house with her dogs and I am happier. However, I bark when she leaves and when she comes home so apartment living isn’t for me. At night, I will sleep on the floor beside your bed but I would rather be on the big bed with you. Sometimes. I like to play outside so if you have a fenced yard, that would be great.

I have had some tummy upsets since I arrived where I regurgitate. Usually, it is just water with a bit of food. Because of this, I am on a daily medication and a low-fat prescription food. They decided they wanted to figure out what was causing this so I had a barium swallow test and some blood work. However, everything has come back normal so they still don’t understand why this is happening. Currently I’m being monitored for this issue, but there doesn’t appear to be a cause.

The ideal home for me must have another dog and you can even a cat. If you have a fenced yard that would be a bonus. If you want a lap dog, I’m your dog. If you have respectful children, I would be okay with that.

I hope to meet you soon.
