Panda

Havanese Poodle Mix – Female – 13 lbs – 5.5  yrs (approx.)

Sponsored in memory of our second Beagle, Faeron.

Hello, my name is Panda and I am looking forward to getting my own family. I am a 5.5 year old (DOB: March 29, 2020) white with brown or grey Havanese poodle mix and about 13 pounds. I am a bit timid and I sometimes back away from being picked up. I have discovered the big teddy bear foster mom has for the dogs and I love to curl up on it. My appetite is good and I will take some treats. I haven’t met any children but foster mom thinks I would be okay with older respectful children.

I love to roam in the back yard and I usually come in when foster mom wants me to, especially if the resident dogs come in as well. I met foster mom’s friend’s big dogs and I was fine with them. I will join the resident dogs in barking at people going by and I will bark in the house so apartment living might not be for me.

Foster mom has two small dogs and several cats. I always want to be with one of the resident dogs. If I am separate from them, I will jump the baby gate to get to them. Foster mom says the baby gates are not even a minor inconvenience for me. I enjoy playing with the younger dog and running around the yard. I have discovered the cats and I am curious about them. Foster mom isn’t too happy because we are bothering the oldest cat but I leave the others alone. I don’t know if I should play with them or chase them. However, one of them swatted me and I am more cautious now.

Panda has a Grade 1 luxating patella in her right, rear leg. This is very common in smaller breed dogs and does not cause her any issues. Like all dogs, it is important to keep Panda at a proper weight. Panda is a healthy girl. She was found to have significant dental disease and had a full dental, including a few extractions, in addition to all of our usual intake veterinary care.

My ideal home must have another similar sized dog. You need to be patient with me as I learn to trust people. If I am scared or surprised, I may lash out so older respectful children would be okay. If you have dog savvy cats, I would be okay with that too. It would be best if you have a secure backyard so I can enjoy being outside.

I hope to meet you soon.
