Sponsored in memory of Bootsie and Brandi
Niño is the sweetest chihuahua who would love nothing more than to spend his days staring up at the one that he loves. He’s a little romantic at heart.
Niño is a shy guy meeting new people, but if you hold him for a few minutes you will feel his little body relax and melt into you. Living in his foster home, he’s quirky and silly. Loves to run around, and takes the greatest pleasure from hearing what a good boy he is. He’s sensitive and if he senses your unhappy, you can see his who demeanor deflate.
While hes not house trained 100%, he does do his business outside when you take him. He came from a breeder/over-populated space, and so house training wasn’t monitored. When his foster mom heads out of the house, he stays in a soft sided pen with a peepad & bed and he’s quite content there until she returns.
Niño is quiet, only really hear him bark when someone comes through the front door. Otherwise, he’s quiet as a mouse.
Niño came to us in bad condition and he was getting worse by the day. After much testing, he was diagnosed with EPI, which means he has an enzyme insufficiency. Once we started adding enzymes to his meal, his weight started to increase, his energy was fantastic, his bloodwork all returned to normal. Going forward Niño will require this supplement be added to his meals 20 minutes before he eats. The bottle supplements costs about $120 and should last 3 months.
Niño would do best in a calm home, with someone who will enjoy being the centre of his affection. He is a gentle pup, but he would not make a great family dog for small children. He is tiny in size, and not really interested in playing, so he’d do best in an adult home.
