Sponsored in loving memory of our sweet Sophie. Wishing all dogs have a family who love them as much as we loved her. Sponsored by alumni Quinn and her brother Barkley.
Hi, my name is Howdy. I am a very cuddly boy who always needs to know where my foster mom is. It makes me nervous when I don’t see her in my sight.
I am a healthy boy who loves to be outside but does not like people walking too close behind me. It makes me very nervous. I do not like any sudden or loud noises especially fireworks. I become very anxious and dart around and my body starts shaking. My foster mom has quickly learned that picking me up and putting me in a tight hug and talking to me in a low, reassuring voice certainly helps me settle down.
I like to play chase in the house and am learning to play with my toys.
I recently had all my hair shaved off as I had never been groomed before and was totally matted.
My forever home would be a quiet, secure place that has a backyard or a place close by to go for long walks and get tangled in the brush.
I like children as long as they are respectful. I tend to ignore cats as long as
they ignore me. Most dogs, big or small are potential friends as long as they are respectful and stay in their boundaries.
I don’t always like to walk especially when I hear scary noises. I try to get out of my harness or lay down. My foster mom is very patient but sometimes ends up having to carry me home.
I like to have a bath and get towelled off by my foster mom.
I still have accidents in the house but am learning very quickly to do my business outside. Pee pads in the house are reassuring when no one is immediately around.
I like to eat my meals in peace but still get nervous if people come too close while I am eating.
I am learning to sleep in my bed in my foster parents room. I need to be close at all times. I wake up early for hugs and love but can be redirected back to sleep for a couple of hours so my foster mom gets her beauty rest.
I would be a good, new member of your family as long as it is a quiet environment and you can give me lots of reassurance and hugs.
