Sponsored in memory of sweet Maddie, with love always Echo and Sandy.
Hi, my name is Bowser. I’m about two and a half years old, and some sort of Terrier mix. My hair is sort of wire-y, but when I’m brushed, it poofs up! I’m a chill dude with a happy-go-lucky attitude.
I’m super gentle, good with kids, and really like meeting and playing with other dogs. When strange new humans give me treats, I make sure to nibble and take them carefully. When meeting other dogs, I can read the room. I can get the zoomies with willing participants, but can also just sniff and say hi. I definitely like little dogs and know how to play nice; some little Shih Tzus have barked right in my face (more than once!), but I just chill. I really, really like long walks are awesome, and no problem napping afterwards. I do like stimulation and attention, especially having my belly rubbed. Sometimes I still have energy at home and love to play with toys!
I’d bet having kids around and action going on in my home would be good for me. I love being around people, sitting in laps, and always showing my spotted tummy (rub now pleashhh). I think I would get along really well with another dog in my home, and having a yard would be pretty cool. Right now I’m in an apartment. I don’t bark at noises in the hall or at those three white yappy doggies who live across from my balcony, and I don’t cry when the human leaves. I know to use the bathroom outside and haven’t had even one accident with my foster human. I don’t beg for human food either! In the car, I’m totally chill in my crate, but still getting used to that whole harness/seatbelt thing.
On walks, I’m really good and responsive on the leash, and I take direction well. The human says I’m super good at “stay.” I enjoy putting my front paws up on humans’ legs to say “Hi!”, but I know not to do this to strangers. Everyone says I’m super cute and friendly. However, I’m so happy to be outside, that I don’t listen to the human’s commands very well. When I’m alone, I can do “lie down” and sometimes “sit” but I’m still learning; I would love another dog in the house to teach/show me what the human wants! I’m super sweet, love attention, and learn quick! Oh, and I have medium level energy (need my exercise/attention), and I shed a little bit.
I love other dogs, but one time in the apartment lobby, two large scary-looking dogs ran up and started barking so loud and aggressively! Outdoors and from a distance this doesn’t bothered me, but I was super afraid and cried for a minute. I was fine right after, but I don’t like the scary aggressive dogs. I get along great with many big doggie friends though; I don’t stereotype.
Overall, I’m super sweet and relaxed. I’d do great with a human and/or dog who will take a little time to explain what this mysterious “sit” is, and a yard to roam around in.
