Bandit

Save Me Remembers

Shih Tzu – Male – 12 lbs – 10+ yrs (approx.)

Sponsored in honour of Maureen’s special birthday

With heavy hearts we share that our beloved Bandit has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.

Bandit joined our rescue on February 23, 2025,  from a shelter in Quebec. As a senior,  with many medical challenges, we knew that he was a t risk and we were so happy to bring him into Save Me. Shortly after his arrival we realized that his life expectancy would be limited. Bandit was placed in palliative care as a forever foster, where he could spend his days surrounded by comfort, love, and dignity.

Thankfully, Bandit found exactly that with his devoted foster, Angela, who opened her heart and home to him. Because of Angela, Bandit knew warmth, gentle care, soft beds, good meals, and the quiet security of being truly loved. She made sure that every day he had left was filled with kindness and compassion. Bandit is the second forever foster that Angela had to say good-bye to this year, as well as her beloved Toby, who she had adopted from Save Me. Even when dealing with so much loss, her first priority is always what is best for the dogs. Angela is a very special lady and our gratitude knows no bounds.

We would also like to express our thanks to Kingsdale Animal Hospital for all of the wonderful care that helped extend Bandit’s life beyond expectations. He left us on March 2 and Kingsdale made it possible for Angela and Bandit to have the peaceful goodbye they both deserved.

The following is from Angela……

“This boy hadn’t enjoyed much sun for a while. So today I was able to hold him, all bundled up of course, and stand outside with the sun on his face while he went into a different kind of light. Run free now, sweet boy Bandit…the thief of hearts.”

Thank you to our generous supporters who make it possible for us to care for precious souls, like Bandit.
