Willa

Willa has been adopted.

Willa is quiet and loving and will make someone a terrific companion. She is excellent on leash, loves her walks and gets along great with other dogs. Though she’s about 7 years old, she has a lot of pick-up to her step.

Willa is as sweet as they come, so well behaved and always grateful for any attention paid her. She had been in the shelter for a while having arrived with a bad case of non-contagious mange. She has been treated now. Her itching has stopped. The sores have cleared and her hair is growing back. Her bloodwork was all clear and the vet said she is now ready to go to her forever home. She is a 7ry old Sharpei mix. She is a medium sized dog weighing about 50lbs. She has been in her foster home recuperating for about a month now. They have watched her change as she has started feeling better.

She doesn’t need to spend all her time scratching and licking her sores so she has plenty of time to play and learn new tricks. She knows all her basic commands like “sit” and “come” but she loves to please her family so she has also learned new  things like “give me your other paw” and “go to your bed”. She likes to play “hide and seek” and is quite skilled at finding the hiders. Although she may have  just memorized all their hiding places by now. She really enjoys her walks and is very good on the leash. She is good in the car and gets excited when she is invited to join  whether it be a trip to the grocery store a long road trip.

She also seems to be housetrained now. She was having some accidents when she was on the medication for her skin but she can now hold it all through the night and actually speaks when she needs to go outside. She just keeps getting better all the time.

Willa gets along great with the other dogs in the house, both large and small, as well as the cat. She is very good with people and wants nothing more than to follow you around until you finally sit down so she can give you a kiss and cuddle up beside you. Willa would make a great addition to any home. With the exception of her of her snoring, she is fairly quiet. She is polite and well mannered. A real lady.
