Meet Walker!

Walker and his siblings joined our rescue from a the James Bay Coast. They are what we call “northerns” meaning they are a wonderful mix of husky, lab and shepherd. Walker’s mom was a medium sized dog but his dad is unknown so his adopter should prepare for him to be medium-large in size when full grown.

At 11 weeks old Johnny is a super sweet and easy going puppy. While his brother Johnny loves to be on the go, Walker is more laid back. Happy to go for a walk, work on his obedience training or just chill with his people Walker will make a wonderful family dog.

Walker and his brother Johnny have been fostered by Kyle and Madison of North Grey K9. Having trainers as your fosters means you get a head start on your obedience training and these two have proven to have the typical northern smarts, picking up basic commands incredibly quickly.

They are both crate trained and have a good start on their housetraining. They are comfortable being bathed and having their nails done. They are also great with other dogs and although not cat tested, based on their temperaments we feel they would do well in a home with cats.

Although Walkers adorable face can easily fool you into thinking you want a puppy, it’s important to remember that puppies are a lot of work. They chew things they shouldn’t, have accidents where they shouldn’t and require routine and commitment. Helping these small puppies grow into well balanced adult dogs is no small feat and it’s important that you consider the commitment required before applying to adopt.
