 Twitch is an 8 year old Min Pin who has found himself in search of a new home after a change in his families situation. Twitch is a social guy who loves the company of his people, he is very affectionate and always up for a good cuddle. He has a whole repertoire of trick which he loves to show off to new people! Although he is 8 he still has lots of energy and loves his daily walks, he will require a home who is up to giving him two good walks a day and lots of play time. Twitch currently lives with two other dogs but we will be looking for a home where he is the only dog. Although he does coexist well with other dogs, he can be dominate and is happiest when it is just him and his people. When he lives with other dogs he displays his dominance by marking, a behavior which we are confident would disappear in a home where he is the only dog.

Twitch spent the first couple years of his life in a very unhealthy environment, as a result he is very sensitive to tone and does not like yelling, he is also slower to warm to men as we believe he was mistreated by a man in this home. He has gained a lot of confidence in his current home but still does have some insecurities. He needs a calm and slow introduction to new people, but as soon as he knows he can trust you he is your friend for life! When one of our volunteers went over to meet Twitch, he was in her lap and asking for cuddles within about 5 minutes! He is a dog who can be uncomfortable around children, there has never been an incident but his current family can see that the noise and quick movements of children can cause him distress, so feel it’s only fair he gets to live in a home without this kind of stress.

So an ideal home for Twitch would be one where he can be the only dog, in an adult only home. He would prefer someone home at least a part of the day as he really does love his people and being with them as much as possible. He would love a home who would be willing to do some training with him as well and who would continue to work on building him up and correcting some of his behaviors which results from a lack of confidence. He is a fun and affectionate little guy who will make a wonderful companion for the right family!
