Speckles has been adopted.
Speckles is a total lovebug who is fantastic with other dogs! Speckles is 45-pound mix who epitomizes the easy-going dog. He is gentle, rarely barks, and is always up for a lazy day on the couch (though he always finds energy for a day at the park). He is curious, likes to sniff around the house, and enjoys a good walk. He plays well with other dogs, and is oh-so-gentle with his human counterparts. Speckles can be a little protective over special toys and treats with other dogs but generally does not display food aggression, despite having been a Kentucky stray.
It appears that Speckles was never formerly trained and is still learning to respect kitchen counter space, and basic commands like sit, and lie down. If a hand approaches too quickly he sometimes winces, but never displays any aggression. Speckles responds to his name and a firm no, if he happens to get a little sidetracked with unwanted behaviour. Though he had an accident upon arriving at his foster home, Speckles is quickly learning the ropes. With a continued routine of walks and bathroom breaks, he has learned to do his business outside, and has never displayed any interest in chewing on items not meant for him.
Speckles loves nothing more than a good belly rub, and will try to initiate a scratch by putting his paw on your lap or snuggling up to you if he feels he is not getting his fill of attention. It’s easy to see that Speckles will make a loyal friend for anyone willing to invest the time in giving him the loving home he deserves.
