Hi there, my name is Rosie! I’m a small poodle mix but my foster mom keeps saying I look like a polar bear cub. But that was when my fur was longer. Unfortunately, my fur was quite matted, so I had a spa day last week and now have a short, spiffy new haircut.
I’m only 3 years old and could easily live another 13+ years so please take this into consideration when applying for me. I am super thankful that I’m getting this second chance at finding a new home, but I never want to do have to be rehomed again.
I’m pretty much housetrained although I’m not the kind of dog who’ll let you know I need to go out, so I’ve had a couple of accidents in my new home but that’s to be expected since I’m new here and my foster mom is still learning my schedule.
I like to go for walks, and I walk well on a leash. I do like to bark at every dog, human and bike passing by though. I also try to get any squirrel in the general vicinity.
I’m really quiet in the house unless someone knocks on the door or I hear a doorbell on tv. I like to bark at those too. I bark at new people when they come into the house but am super curious and warm up pretty fast.
I’m looking for a home without children or with only older children because I’m not always sure of children who move quickly and suddenly, and I might growl at them. Also, when I’m playing, I tend to get a wee bit too excited and like to make growly noises, jump and play with my teeth. I’m not biting, but my teeth are pretty sharp so it would be scary to a young child.
I would really love to find a home with another dog who likes to play because I love to play, so I’m going to give preference to any applications with a playmate for me. I’m not sure if I want to live with any cats. My foster home has a chinchilla, and frankly, I won’t leave him alone. I like to bark and growl lots at him and try to jump at his cage. Oopsie!
My absolute favourite thing to do is to snuggle with my people so if you don’t like to cuddle, then I’m not definitely NOT the dog for you. I like to be right beside you or preferably on you. I also like to give kisses too! My foster mom says I am a sweetheart.
