Maggie is a sweet, loyal, healthy, playful girl. She has lots of energy and loves her morning jogs before work. Once properly exercised she happily spends the day in her gated room with her toys and a treat stuffed bone.
When you get home you will be greeted by a lovely deep husky howl. Other than that she is pretty quiet in the house.
She will follow you everywhere and is always looking for ways to help, but if you are sitting on the couch she is happy to curl up and keep your feet warm. At night she sleeps on the dog bed next to the bed but if given the chance she would love to curl up at your feet.
She loves the dog park and as long as there is another dog to chase her she will run and run. Much to the pleasure of other dog owners! With a single flat coat there is little shedding and she stays burr free on long hikes which she also loves. Due to her breed makeup she loves to chase, and while her recall is great in the leash free it is not so great once she’s on the chase so she would not due well on a property where she is expected to be off leash. She has very good leash manners and is a pleasure to walk. She is also good with the basic commands like sit and stay. She still has a tendency to jump up when excited, and although we are working on it she would do best in a home without young children. She enjoys just being outside and sniffing around the yard.
She is devoted to the person she is with and struggles with sharing their attention. While not aggressive, she can be very competitive with other dogs in the home for attention so we feel is best as an only dog.
Maggie truly is the perfect dog for an active, one dog home.
