Dogs

Gilmour

Gilmour is adopted!

Gilmour / Male / Black / Northern Dog / 12 weeks old / 30 pounds

Horton Clark and Gilmour are 12 weeks old now and weigh close to 30lbs. They will be extra large dogs when full grown so they will require a home that can accommodate a dog over 100lbs and an owner that has experience handling a dog that size. Their mom is an 80lb German Shepherd. We are not sure of the father but there is probably husky in there which means they could be high energy dogs with strong personalities. We have been working on housetraining. We have a doggy door so they are always clean in their crate. They will mess in the house if we let them run loose so house training is still very necessary. They are used to their collars now and enjoy going out for walks. As they grow, they will need to walked often to help wear off their energy and keep them out of mischief.

They are sweet and social puppies. They have the ability to grow into wonderful dogs and we only want what is best for them. Potential adopters will have to agree to taking them to obedience school so they can continue to be socialized and learn manners before they get too big to handle. We are also looking for a home where somebody can be home most of the time.
Puppies require a lot of time and energy. They can’t be left in a crate for more than 3-4hrs during the day at this point.

Horton is a vocal dog to get attention. He likes to growl when playing. He likes to cry when he doesn’t get his way. His drama performance is Oscar worthy. He loves to learn and please us. Teaching him skills and tricks is important.

Gilmour is a big guy with lots of energy. He likes to explore everything. He wants to see the whole world but he needs a confident owner who will help him when he gets scared in new situations. He is also learning new skills but it takes him a bit longer to catch on sometimes. He would rather look lovingly into your eyes than follow a command.
