Ellie

Ellie has been adopted!

Sponsored by Deb B., in loving memory Toto

Our sweet Ellie Mae, as her foster parents affectionately call her is happy to announce she is off the rehab list and is ready to search for her forever home.  A red Dobby, which makes her a unique colour  and a head turner.

Ellie has had a hard life of breeding with little care to her personal self.  Our wonderful vet and her foster folks have worked hard along with Ellie Mae to clear up some nasty skin problems she came to Save Me Rescue with.  Her brown coat is now shiny and healthy and her new journey begins.
She is a wonderful, mellow girl who is quite vocal when she needs out or wants a pet.  A typical Dobby trait.  She is lovely with all she meets and has had no issue with any of the dogs she has been introduced to.  The resident cat is odd with all the new dogs and Ellie, while curious, has had very little interaction with the house cat.
She has her playful moments but for the most part , is a chill laid back girl who only wants love and to feel comfortable in her roll as part of a family.
Ellie does have some arthritis and has done well with the addition of glucosamine.  The vet feels at this point, he is comfortable to monitor her and has recommended no further medication at this time.  She does have difficulty with stairs and her parents do monitor her on the travel downstairs to use the outdoor facilities.  A home with minimal stairs would be best for Ellie’s new life.
Ellie talks continually on a car ride and is a bit anxious with travel.  She will ride okay with an an occasional pet and travels well  as a shotgun but tethered.
Her foster parents are so thrilled with the progress she has made.  While not in perfect health, she does remarkedly well for her age and she has a determined soul .  She does things under her own steam and direction.  A trait that has endeared her immensely to her fosters.
If you are looking for a mellow, wonderful soul, Ellie is your girl.
