Daisy has been adopted!
Sponsored in memory of Kiah and Izzy who were so beloved by Paul and Carolyn. With love from Colleen and Roz.
Daisy is a sweet girl who came into foster care after being abandoned by her owner and left in an empty apartment. She arrived with 1 very large mammary tumour and 1 small mammary tumour. After an extensive check up and blood work to make sure she was otherwise healthy, Daisy had surgery to remove the masses. She sailed through the surgery and has recovered beautifully. The large tumour proved to be benign. The small tumour was a very low grade malignancy and the odds are greatly in Daisy’s favour that the surgery was curative. This type and grade of tumour has roughly a 4% rate of recurrence or metastasis. Daisy’s histopatholgy report will be available to her adopter. Having the very large tumour removed has had such a positive impact on Daisy and she is loving life again. She also had a dental and did not require any extractions. Daisy will be spayed April 26, 2022, and if all goes as well as expected, she will be up for adoption shortly after that.
Daisy is a Velcro dog who will follow you everywhere, including into the bathroom and into your bed! Daisy wants to be close and will sit with you on your chair or couch as long as you will let her. She loves to be covered in blankets. Daisy is good on a leash and good in the car. She currently lives with other dogs her size and smaller and she does well. Daisy has been in the company of a cat and they got along fine. Daisy has a little adorable snort that reminds you that you are not paying enough attention to her. Daisy is very food driven and when adopted, it will have to be reinforced that she must eat her “dog” food!
Daisy does well with older children, her foster family has not had her around children under the age of 12. Daisy will go outside on a leash, or she also enjoys her fenced in backyard.
Do you think you could provide a nice quiet retirement home for Daisy?
Daisy was brought into rescue under the “Marilyne Ellis Memorial Fund for Senior Dogs”. We are grateful to all the donors who are helping us keep Marilyne’s legacy alive. For information on this fund or to donate please contact donations@savemedogrescue.ca.
