Felicia is Adopted!
Felicia / Female / Spayed / Terrier Mix / 4-5 years old / 29 Lbs / Adoption fee: $400.00
Felicia is a beautiful 5 year old female hound/terrier mix. She is a medium size dog, approximately 25-30lbs with a stunning short red/brown coat. She is very eager to please and loves nothing more than a good head scratch. Her foster mom says that being with her humans and snuggling up to them is her favorite pass time, and that she is a very calm and relaxed dog.
Felicia is timid when meeting new people, but warms up quickly to them when given scratches. She warms up quicker to females than males, but given time accepts both genders. Her foster mom says that Felicia loves to put her paw on you/nudge her nose under her hand when she wants more “scratches,” and that this sassy quality is very endearing. Felicia loves other dogs and would love a confident companion in her forever home to help her come out of her shell. At her foster home in Ohio she was with three other large dogs and enjoyed being in their company and playing with them. Although she loves playing with other dogs she is still learning how to play with toys! She hasn’t lived with cats while in our care but tested well with them in the shelter environment.
Felicia has displayed growing confidence during walks, although at times she is still fearful in new situations. An advantage of Felicia going to a home with another dog is that the other dog will give Felicia confidence, as she will look to them for guidance. Felicia is very loving, and knows the basic commands of “sit, stay, come, etc.” and responds to her name. She is also house and crate trained, and does not make a fuss while crated. Felicia is very nervous in the car, but will enter willingly and with continued positive experiences this will improve.
Felicia is looking for a home who can give her stability and routine, she would be the perfect second dog for an individual or family. Ideally she would like a home with a fully enclosed back yard in which she could run around and play in.
Whoever adopts Felicia will be showered in endless amounts of love and affection. This well-behaved girl is great in the house, and just needs a little tlc to show her the joys of walking/playing.
